Guitar has many modern and ancient forms, and most musical instruments have an amplified form. In some styles, the student must learn not only about guitar, but also about electronics. Acoustic instruments can be amplified to a certain extent.
Each instructor specializes in a guitar style of playing. And each style may require a particular make of guitar, or a particular type of strings, or a particular seating or standing position/gear. Please check the Internet for free lessons and to decide on a particular style, before inquiring with a particular instructor. A private lesson can offer many advantages the Internet cannot, but a private lesson requires adhering to a plan of study to achieve the student’s goals.
